Amazonocrinis thailandica sp. nov. (Nostocales, Cyanobacteria), a novel species of the previously monotypic Amazonocrinis genus from Thailand

چکیده

Cyanobacteria are distributed worldwide, and many new cyanobacterial species discovered in tropical region. TheNostoc-like genus Amazonocrinis has been separated from the Nostoc based on polyphasic methods. However, species diversity within this remains poorly understood systematically because only one (Amazonocrinisnigriterrae) described. In study, two novel strains (NUACC02 NUACC03) were isolated moist ricefield soil Thailand. These characterized using a approach, morphology, 16S rRNAphylogenetic analysis, internal transcribed spacer secondary structure ecology. Phylogenetic analyses 16SrRNA gene sequences confirmed that formed monophyletic clade related to Amazonocrinisand distant type A. nigriterrae. The rRNA sequence similarity (<98.1%) betweennovel all other closely taxa including members exceeded cutoff for speciesdelimitation bacteriology, reinforcing presence of species. Furthermore, strainspossessed unique phenotypic characteristics such as sheath, necridia-like cells, larger cell dimensionand akinete arrangement long-chains singularity D1–D1′, Box-B, V2, V3 structures thatdistinguished them members. Considering results, we described our Amazonocrinisthailandica sp. nov. accordance with International Code Nomenclature Algae, Fungi Plants.

Calochaete gen. nov. (Cyanobacteria, Nostocales), a new cyanobacterial type from the “páramo” zone in Costa Rica

A new tapered and false branched morphotype of filamentous heterocytous cyanobacterium was isolated from soil material collected on a massif of Chirripó Mountain, Costa Rica. The strain was analyzed morphologically and a sequence of its 16S rRNA gene was compared with available 16S rDNA sequences of organisms with similar morphology, especially those with heteropolar tapering filaments. Phyloge...

Eithea lagopaivae Campos-Rocha & Dutilh, sp. nov. is described as the second species of the formerly monotypic genus Eithea. It is characterized by a one flowered inflorescence, completely hollow scape, white or lightly magenta-striated flower that is enclosed by spathe bracts fused for more than the lower fifth of its length. Candida pseudorugosa sp. nov., a novel yeast species from sputum.

Two yeast strains, strains XH 1026 and XH 1164, isolated from the sputum of an intensive care unit patient with acute pneumonia, were originally identified as Candida albicans and C. tropicalis, respectively. Sequence analysis of the 26S rRNA gene D1/D2 domain and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region indicated that the two strains represent a novel yeast species closely related to C. ro...

Candida wancherniae sp. nov. and Candida morakotiae sp. nov., two novel ascomycetous anamorphic yeast species found in Thailand.

Seven yeast strains isolated from natural substrates of Thailand were found to represent two novel species of Candida, an ascomycetous anamorphic genus. Three strains, ST-233, ST-259 and ST-260, isolated from insect frass and plant leaves were found to represent a single novel species related to Metschnikowia agaves in a tree based on the D1/D2 domain sequences of the 26S rRNA genes. This speci...

Five novel Kitasatospora species from soil: Kitasatospora arboriphila sp. nov., K. gansuensis sp. nov., K. nipponensis sp. nov., K. paranensis sp. nov. and K. terrestris sp. nov.

A polyphasic study was carried out to establish the taxonomic positions of six strains isolated from diverse soil samples and provisionally assigned to the genus Kitasatospora. The isolates were found to have chemical and morphological properties consistent with their classification as Kitasatospora strains. Direct 16S rRNA gene sequence data confirmed the taxonomic position of the strains foll...
